Workshops
Careers in Law Enforcement / Criminal Justice: We provide educational trainings so that members of the community understand the challenges and opportunities of careers in the criminal justice field. Topics covered in these dynamic workshops include: application process, interviewing techniques, preparation for testing, physical fitness, background checks, impacts of social media usage, communication skills and an overview of the various jobs in the field.
Mentoring / Coaching
Supporting the development of candidates for law enforcement agencies: We walk with community members who are in the final stages of the application process so that they have a positive role model and coach as they compete for these highly sought-after positions. We also coach current law enforcement, government and business managers as they strive to expand their leadership skills and knowledge in the field. Mentoring and coaching processes include weekly check-in’s via phone, video conferencing or in-person (when appropriate) with specific areas of focus to strengthen an applicant’s position in the process.
Presentations / Conferences
Police/Community Relations: We provide presentations to communities around the country on how relationships between law enforcement agencies and community partners can be improved through open dialogue processes, trust building activities and genuine engagement with the community on the development of public safety programs that respect civil rights and improve law enforcement agencies.
Community Forums
Police/Community Dialogues: We organize and facilitate profound discussions between law enforcement representatives and community members. In an era of strained relationships, we believe that the path to mutual respect and understanding is through effective dialogic processes where participants’ voices are heard, understood and action is taken as the result of information gathered at these transformative events. Our methodology is simple and direct, which allows for the creation of a safe space in which opinions can be shared effectively. It also enables the community and law enforcement representatives to collaborate on a shared vision for how ‘public safety’ could be structured in their community.
Educational Support
Guest speakers, job shadowing, field trips, internships, teacher resources: We provide technical support for high schools by identifying relevant speaker for academy classes, coordinating opportunities for students to shadow professionals in desired career fields, organize field trips to organizations and agencies that align with student career goals and identify/manage internships for students to acquire real-world experience. In addition, we participate in senior defense presentations, resume review activities, mock interview sessions, teen court trials and organize volunteer/community service opportunities for these students.
Facilitation / Technical Support
We assist agencies and organizations to become high-performing teams through clarification of roles and responsibilities, clarification of governance protocols and goal setting.
