We know that achieving our vision for the country is complex and challenging – nevertheless, we know that we have the skills, experience and strategic thinking to reach it. We understand that in order to change systems from the inside we must engage everyone in thoughtful, creative and trusting ways.
In order to develop the processes and structures needed to address systemic issues like racism, incarceration rates, bias, and others that hamper improving community peace building efforts, we use the following strategies to build bridges:
- Identification of stakeholders – who are our people?
- Focus – what is the change that they need?
- Problem solving – why hasn’t their issue been addressed in the past?
- Vision – what would the world look like if the problem were solved?
- Solutions – how do we overcome the barriers that prevent us from improving the system?
